Rainy Day Weekend
Although its yet another rainy day weekend here in soggy Dallas I did manage to get a few things done. I fixed the shower faucet in the spare bathroom and replaced all the insulation around the furnace and hot water heater. Bob Vila eat your heart out!
Surprisingly it didn’t even take that long. The hardest part was getting anything done with a 130 lb. great pyreness glued to you. Seems the thunder today really had Bunny scared and she was none to pleased that I was working with water inside as well.
But now I’m all finished and just taking it easy for the rest of the weekend. I do need to pick up a card for little Maya Hadaway, its her third birthday today and a few of us are going over after the kids and vanilla parents have gone home. Glen and Joann usually have cool parties so I’m expecting to be there for a while.
I figured out how to embed a YouTube video in my posts, so check out the video below. Its Kermit the Frog reacting to the “2 girls one cup” music video. I love me some Kermit …

**Oh yea, beware, this is not a kids film.
Random stuff for the weekend
I have been dragging all day today. Last night was fun. So much so that I barely even got up and managed to get to work on time today. I even slept on my lunch hour. I know, I know, either I am a lightweight or had a few too many at any of the three bars we managed to hit. We went to Clear, O-Bar, and the Zoo Bar. They were all cool and fun but wow can that boy drink. I’m not usually a liquor drinker but I thought “when in Rome” for some stupid reason and it was all over at that point. So tonight is an early one for me.
As a note to myself I wrote a list if of things I need to get on top of, and read up on this weekend.
It certainly couldn’t hurt for you to take a look at a few either buster!

So along with a little light reading this weekend, I have to fix a shower, and plumbing is not one of my favorite things. Oh no … I think I’m having flashbacks to chasing the flowing problem with the sprinkler system … I better sit down … and have a drink.
Ok kids that’s enough for tonight, see ya.
Hallmark Day, of Sorts
Happy Hallmark Day folks! Today has been one of those days that teach you patience as you go along. Between frantic requests and emergency computer repairs, today has been a non-stop roller coaster. But in the end I’m still smiling because somehow we got it all done. So I say Happy Hallmark Day to you … and now I am going out with the guys and have a few drinks.
Tonight I’m headed out to a friends house to celebrate his birthday today. We’re going to the Clear Ultra Lounge downtown, so this should be cool. Its been a while since I have dressed up to go out like this, but its with good friends so what the hell. Maybe I should act my age sometime. Then again maybe later on that one.
As you have undoubtably noticed, the look of the site has changed and there is now a nice little row of images at the top. These images are linked to my flickr account and automatically pull the 10 latest addtions to my collection. Its very clean, almost clinical in appearance, but for now its what I want. Plus I hated the way the pictures showed up in the lists before.
Well I hope everyone has a good night tonight. See you tomorrow kids.
Wo wo Mexico …
I am still in Mexico today and will be until Saturday. I know its been a little while since I posted but I just could not get a good signal down here until now. Seems they are a little behind us in the states, in many ways. We just recieved our equipment today, despite having shipped it two weeks ago and our show is over tomorrow. Oh well, better late than never and they only stole one tape so that was a relief. Of course now we’re trying to figure out how to get all this equipment out tomorrow and not have to carry a ton of gear through customs on a ‘tourist card’. Yea, sure, I normally carry an extra 125lbs. of equipment when I go on vacation to attend a meeting … yea, that’s it … Next time I will demand a work visa!
Despite all that and the rest of the craziness around here, we have managed to pull off the show with only what we carried personally and what we could ‘McGuyver’ while here. We have done some amazing things with almost no equipment. I’m proud of the Combat AV we have been able to pull together. Nobody else I know could have possibly done this well under these circumstances.
So I am looking forward to coming home and hanging out with my girls. Poor Bunny and Paloma must be lonely. I’ll make sure I have an extra large bone and some cat treats for them when I get back. Plus I could use a nice relaxing walk with just the three of us.
Well, I think I’m going to try and finally get to the pool and maybe get some sun. See you on the flip side kids.
