A little here, a little there …

This mornings weird facts brought to you from the Zoological Society of London’s published list of the world’s weirdest animals.

* CAMEL milk does not curdle, because it has adapted to the desert heat.
* MOSQUITOES are attracted to the color blue twice as much as to any other color.
* The longest recorded flight of a CHICKEN is 13 seconds.
* ELEPHANTS are the only mammals that can’t jump.

One of the funniest things I have seen lately, “Everyday Normal Guy Rap Song”

More to come today …

ice, ice baby …

Tomorrow morning’s weather is predicted to be an icy mess.  To me, it would be really cool if we finally got our early ice storm.  Bring it I say!  The forecast is for icy conditions during primarily morning rush hour, so we’ll see how funny the shots for the evening news turn out.

Bunny dog will be all over the deck and the neighborhood if it does actually ice over, and that will be cool.  The last time it happened I got some very memorable shots of her.  Probably the best ever; if I may boast!  This year I have a better camera so I am really looking forward to it.

Well keep your fingers crossed kids. Goodnight.

Short and Sweet

I told myself I was going to try and post something everyday from now on, so here we are.  Yep, you and me … we’re here alright …

So how about those presidential debates?!  To quote John Stewart, “the gloves are off!”  It was like watching two clucking chickens go after the same grain of corn.  Seriously, really, these are supposed to be the best we have for the position of the most powerful person in the civilized world?  Seriously?!  These are dark times indeed …

Oh and screw the Patriots.  I just have to say that, being a Jets fan and all I feel like its my civil duty.  They’ll probably win, but still screw ‘em.

I bought Bunny a new bone on the way home from dinner tonight and now I’m playing catch with the parts as they fly around the room.   Its good to have a happy dog. ;)

Well, I just don’t have to much more to say tonight.  This is just one of those nights to curl up with your dog in front of the fire.  So I best get to it.  Goodnight kids.

Its Bueno

After a few hectic days at the office its finally Friday again, and none to soon.  The week started with mindless clients, a grueling workout or two, moved on to odd household issues, and ended with a quiting developer.  What a fire drill.  At least I’m handling them better these days, and as crazy as it sounds, I was the calm quick one out of the bunch today when all hell broke loose.  Was kind of fun watching other freak out and not me for a change.

I say that, and had a reason to go out and have a few, yet here I sit in front of a roaring fire with my kids a movie and a beer.  I really wanted to go out to grab a bite actually.  I even drove to Chili’s and the Roadhouse and they were bot slammed so I grabbed some Bueno and came home.  Tomorrow night I really want to go somewhere.  I really don’t care where or with whom, but I have to get out.  It sucks when all your friends have kids and don’t want to do anything.  I’m not really comfortable going to bars by myself and hanging out, which is weird since I can do it on the road.

Well I think that’s all the heavy thinking I will do tonight.  Now its bone throwing time so have a goodnight kids.

Screw the resolutions and just do it …

The holidays are finally over and I am getting back in stride for a better year. Last year was rough and I learned a few things the hard way. This year I’m actually going to get some personal things done, like my teeth, and a a few others so I feel a little bit better about stepping into the dating world. Which is another thing I intend to do. I’ve been paying for match.com for a while now so I might as well use it. I’m not getting any younger and nobody is beating down my door so I suppose I need to get off my ass. Now all I need is a minor miracle to in the mortgage market to occur. But that’s another story.

This weekend I decided to try my hand at home repair . I have been staring at the back door frame and its disarray for some time now, thinking that I would hire someone to fix it. But since that isn’t going to happen anytime soon I thought I would give it a go. Well, I’m no Bob Villa but the back door is way more secure now than it ever was, and it even works the way it should now. Its not perfect, but I think I did ok for my first door. It took a day and a half but still. Next project, the floors. Or maybe the kitchen cabinets first. I’ll have to see how that will work out best.

Oh one really crappy thing that happened which I’m trying very hard to see in a positive light, was my Les Paul guitar kneck breaking on New Years Eve while playing with Bunny. I can’t be mad, but I sure feel like someon kicked me in the nuts. I mean this is the guitar that got my through high school and college and last year. So I’m going to get it fixed and I’m thinking it will be better than ever and I have always wanted the neck to be a bit thinner anyway. So this is good, right?!

Alright kids, thats all I have for you right now. Have a good day tomorrow.
